Junior Solicitor - Commercial & Property Law

An opportunity exists for a motivated junior solicitor to join our experienced commercial & property team. (Graduates eligible for admission within the near future are also encouraged to apply).

We are a mid-sized firm of 18 professional staff and a total staff of approximately 40, practising in the areas of commercial and property law, commercial litigation, criminal law, personal injury law and family law.  The firm is highly regarded having been established nearly 50 years ago.

Certificate III in Business - Traineeship

We currently have a full time traineeship available for someone who would like to study to achieve a Certificate III in Business.  This would suit someone new to the workforce who is looking to kick start their career.  The position will be working in the areas of Criminal Law and Commercial Litigation.   The successful applicant must have:

  • a positive / can do attitude,
  • strong committed work ethic,
  • a current drivers licence,
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills,

If you have a genuine interest in an office career, meet the above criteria, are committed to complete the 12 month Business Traineeship qualification and are energetic and motivated then this position may suit you.

We are a progressive firm using the latest technology.  It is intended the role will develop and evolve, however initially the duties will include:-

  • answering and managing incoming telephone calls;
  • diary management;
  • typing from dictation;
  • preparation of documents and correspondence;
  • file management; and
  • general administrative support.

Recent school leavers or those wanting to re-enter the workforce with an interest in law or business are encouraged to apply.

Experienced Conveyancing Clerk

We are currently seeking an experienced conveyancer.  An attractive salary package is available dependent upon the applicant’s experience and performance, making this a genuine opportunity for an experienced person to achieve professional satisfaction.

The successful applicant will have at least three years’ experience as a conveyancing clerk with a proven track record of running residential conveyancing files autonomously from start to finish and possess the knowledge and ability to provide excellent client service.

Three years’ experience is a minimum requirement, but more experienced applicants with a thorough understanding of working within a professional environment are encouraged to apply.  Excellent communication skills are the key for this role (as you will be meeting with clients) together with a friendly personality and a can-do attitude to getting the job done. The successful applicant will be able to work with minimum supervision and have good attention to detail.  The successful applicant should also have:-

  • the ability to work in a fast paced professional environment;
  • high level computer skills (preferably including familiarity with PEXA and Duties Online); and
  • excellent communication and organisational skills.

Knowledge of LawMaster is desirable, but not essential.

Experienced Senior Secretary / Paralegal - Litigation

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced motivated person to join our Litigation team on a full time basis.  On the job training is provided in our systems and processes using cutting edge technology.

Role Overview:

Working as part of a small team, the ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a legal support role including:

  • assisting a senior litigation lawyer
  • answering phones and managing incoming telephone calls
  • diary management
  • liaison with both internal and external clients, barristers and experts
  • preparation of documents and court briefs
  • billing
  • file management
  • general administrative support

To succeed in this role the successful applicant must have strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

Skills Required:

The successful applicant will possess:

  • fast, accurate touch typing skills – 60 wpm
  • competency in the use of MS Office, particularly Word
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to manage work priorities & multi-task
  • ability to work independently, under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • excellent attention to detail
  • professional presentation
  • ability to develop positive work relationships with staff and clients

To be successful in this role you will be enthusiastic, willing to learn and able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility.

Must have previous experience in the legal profession.
