I am a “born and bred” Mackay local, with long standing connections to the region. I returned to Mackay to be close to my family and friends after having spent two and a half years working in private practice as a Commercial & Property Lawyer specialising in taxation and estate planning in Brisbane.
I am enjoying living in Mackay and can assist clients with a broad range of matters including business structuring, conveyancing (residential, rural and commercial), estate planning, succession planning and estate administration.
As a Commercial & Property Lawyer, I strive to build a strong relationship with my clients so that I can assist with their current needs and anticipate their future needs. I find that this allows my clients to rest assured that I have their best interests at heart.
If I am not working, you will generally find me running or exploring the Mackay and Whitsunday region.
I completed my Bachelor of Laws while working full time as a secretary and law clerk. During my years of study I worked as a secretary and law clerk in the areas of family law, criminal law, property development, conveyancing and personal injury at Ballina, the Gold Coast and finally at Mackay.
I completed high school at Moranbah and after travelling away for study wanted to return to this area as both my family and my husband’s family live in Moranbah. I have a strong connection to the Moranbah area as my husband and our families all work in the mining industry which provides me with great understanding of matters in the Mackay, Moranbah and coalfields area.
Now admitted, I focus primarily on family law and traffic matters. I am passionate and empathetic. My previous experience has provided me with an in-depth understanding of the challenges clients face in accessing and understanding legal advice and I aim to ensure that my client’s feel understood and respected while navigating the legal system.
When I am not working, you will find me spending time with my family both in Mackay and also travelling regularly to Moranbah.
Belinda is a Paralegal in the Commercial section of the firm and has been working in the legal industry for approximately 18 years. Belinda has predominately completed work in residential, commercial and off the plan property including leasing, conveyancing and multi-unit developments.
I began my legal career with Wallace & Wallace Lawyers in 2012, as a legal assistant in the commercial litigation team, while completing my Bachelor of Laws through the University of Southern Queensland. My first few years at the firm gave me invaluable experience, and once I graduated and was admitted to the profession, I was able to hit the ground running.
Since my admission in 2018, I have continued to work predominantly in commercial litigation, however I’ve also amassed experience in employment and industrial relations law.
I am a passionate and empathetic advocate, with a strong focus on client outcomes. I like to adopt a holistic approach wherever possible, and encourage my clients to be proactive in managing their affairs.
Outside of work, I am interested in all things health and fitness. I’ve recently discovered a love for cycling, and on the weekends you can find me out trying to beat my personal best, or taking in the scenery of a new route. I also enjoy spending time with my young family, or catching up with friends over coffee.
I am on the committee of the Mackay District Law Association, and regularly volunteer at the Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre’s Legal Advice Evenings.
Prior to my admission, I was employed as a law clerk at a busy criminal law firm on the Gold Coast. This gave me grounding and insight into the criminal law process from an early stage in my career. I have been employed at Wallace & Wallace Lawyers since being admitted in late 2014.
Family and criminal law have been my practice areas since my admission. I am passionate about these areas of law. I often meet clients during the most stressful and confronting time of their lives. I am empathetic and listen carefully to my client’s situation and their concerns. I am upfront in my advice to ensure my clients have a thorough knowledge of the process and the likely outcome. This helps my clients in making an informed decision about their matter.
I have appeared in the Family Court, the Federal Circuit Court, the Magistrates Court, the District Court, the Supreme Court and the Coroner’s Court on a regular basis throughout my career. I am a confident advocate for my clients and I enjoy the unique challenges of appearing at Court.
Outside of work, I play netball competitively. I am a member of Galaxy Netball Club, a supportive and friendly club in Mackay. I enjoy hiking and have completed several long distance hiking trips. If I am not at netball or hiking, you will generally find me baking or trying (this far unsuccessfully) to grow vegetables in my garden.
“Cassandra Adorni-Braccesi provided not only an exceptional level of service but also provided her time, knowledge and expertise in a particularly complex case. She is an extremely skilled solicitor and I would highly recommend her for any legal matters. I would certainly use Wallace & Wallace for any legal services in the future.“

“Having to go to court after a traumatic experience was terrifying but necessary. It was such a relief having Lara representing me when I felt so vulnerable. All my calls were answered/returned. Every email was replied to. The excellent team of staff kept me informed and answered all queries with professionalism and understanding. I was also impressed with Ruth’s patience with my many technological difficulties. She never treated me like the moron I left I was. I am grateful to have been represented by Wallace & Wallace. The balance of professionalism and customer care got me through a difficult time in my life. Thank you.”
I have been predominately focused on Business and Property Law since 2005 after completing my articles across all general areas of legal practice.
I have a strong focus on developing relationships with my clients to better understand their business to ensure I can deliver outcomes for my clients that are best suited to their individual circumstances. I understand that each and every client and matter is different and do not subscribe to a “one size fits all” approach to legal practice.
Having worked in-house in private enterprise and local government I have developed a greater understanding of how to tailor legal advice to fit the practicalities of day to day business and enjoy assisting clients achieve their business goals.
I have a particular focus on clients and matters involved in the mining industry; acting for large international mining companies, businesses that service the mining industry and landowners impacted by the mining industry.
In addition to the above I practice daily in all aspects of commercial law including but not limited to business structuring advice, leases (both commercial and retail), business sales and acquisitions and agribusiness matters.
When I’m not at work I am spending time with my three boys who keep me very busy with their sporting interests.
I also enjoy giving back to the community and sit on the Board of Directors for the local rugby league and have been involved with the North Queensland Law Association for over 10 years.
